The Golden form of Maha Ganapati was manifested by Maharishi Kanva in his ashram near the Ganga. The glowing energies protected all the rishis and munis, and kept the rakshasas at bay. Agastya Maharishi as well as Gautama Maharishi visited the ashram and named this dazzling Ganesha as “Sorya Mukha Ganesha” and “Prachee Ganesha”.
